SULPTURAL OBJECTS
Accidental Cutting is an experimental pattern-cutting method that extends beyond fashion into the world of furniture and interior design. Its innovative approach to shape, structure, and material exploration can also be applied to the creation of unique sofas, lamps, seating systems, and sculptural objects. By combining craftsmanship, geometry, and sustainable design thinking, Accidental Cutting opens new possibilities for contemporary furniture and spatial design.
Although Eva Iszoro currently develops primarily art and design works within the framework of the experimental pattern-cutting method Accidental Cutting, she has also designed objects in the past without using this method.
“UNDER THREAT” 2026
Accidental Cutting textile sculpture and lighting. Work in progress.
This textile sculpture explores threatening, unsettling volumes created through Accidental Cutting, Eva Iszoro’s experimental pattern-cutting method. Made from 100% wool felt, its raw textures, exposed seams and integrated lighting blur the boundaries between sculpture and design, evoking the uncertainty of our times. The physical piece is complemented by virtual artworks, projections and digital displays, extending the experience into mixed reality.
“RADICAL POUFS” 2026
Accidental Cutting textile sculpture for sitting.
Radical Poufs is a series of textile sculptures designed to function as seating objects. The project explores the joining of two differently shaped patterns with identical perimeter lengths, connected by a single 7-metre-long zipper. Different zipper configurations are investigated to create radically different volumes using the same patterns. All patterns used in this series are zero-waste.
